Many people have turned to sensor lights for protection in their homes and businesses. A sensor light will automatically turn on when any motion crosses the path of the sensor, giving home owners an added sense of security. They are very easy to install and here are a few tips to get the most out of sensor lights.

At your residence, you want to position the sensor lights to cover any walkways leading to your front and back door. If you can position the sensor light to cover the driveway and the walkway to your front door at the same time, you will save money by getting less light sensors. These sensors are also a great for lighting your backyard deck, patio or stairways in case you have to walk the dog or take out the trash at night. They can help you see potential hazards such as a swimming pool or a garden fence.

An important trick for positioning the sensors is to cover every possible entry way to your home, including fence gates, side garage windows, basement windows and dark areas of the yard around heavy bushes or trees. The best position for a sensor light is between 7 to 10 feet above the ground.
